Acrostic Poem, Earthquake

Emergency
After building busted
Running away
Terrible
Helpless people
Quakes
Unhappy people every where
Awful lives are lost
Kind people help the people who are trapped
Extreme earthquakes

Story Review, Dora

The Docking Day  by Amanda Jackson
This story is about a Sheep farm family who go down to the paddocks to do docking. The children helped a bit but most of the time they rolled down hills and chased rabbits. While the family was busy docking, a chocolate truck tumbled down the hill and crashed on a tree. Then the family helped the truck driver collect all the boxes that had fallen out of the truck.

The characters in this story are Aunt Mollie,Mikey,Uncle Tama and the truck driver.

This story takes place in a paddock that was by the sea.

I liked this story because they had christmas decorations  to hang up for docking day.

Article Review

Less than One Second by Jan Trafford

This article is about Ashley and Shiree taking part in the slot car race that takes less than one second.Ashley and Shiree are the only children taking part in the annual slot car drag race.

The cars could reach speeds up to 193 Kilometres per hour.Times are recorded on the computer.

I like this article because it is a racing car story and I like racing cars. I wish I could drive a car myself and I wish it was the fastest car ever.

Report on Land Transport

                      Report on Land Transport

Land Transport is the most commonly used transport in New Zealand.

The one wheeled unicycle is called a Monowheel but it is not commonly used because it is very difficult to ride.It is very widly used by young people and some young people use schooters and bikes at the skatepark.

The three wheeled tricycle,Rickshaw and Lyric is not very much  used by people in New Zealand.

The Rickshaws are three wheeled motorized transport. They are widely used in the major cities in Asian countries for carrying passengers.

There are some fantastic fast cars that are used on the road and some are fast, loud and private. There are some people that come to school on a skateboard or by a car.

Some fantastic vehicles that are six wheeled  are  Trucks and Buses and they are mostly used as  passenger vehicles and for transporting cargo.

The ten wheeled transporters are container trucks, Oil Tankers, Cranes, Tow Trucks, Vehicle Carriers and Fire Engines. They are used for carrying heavy loads over long distances and in emergencies.

Land Transport is very important for all of us since people need to travel to school or work. It makes peoples lives a lot easier.

My Holidays

My Holiday

In the holidays, I went to the movies with cousin’s family because it was her birthday. My aunt gave us some party packs so we didn’t have to get some popcorn. I watched Monsters University and my aunty  and my two uncle watched a scary movie.

After the movies we went to my Grandma and Grandpa’s house.  When we got there, my Grandpa started a  B.B.Q. While Grandpa was doing the BBQ, we played outside with my uncle. Then I helped my Grandpa with the B.B.Q to.

After that I helped my Grandma prepare the dinner table. Then all of us had dinner together. When it was dark, we went home. The evening with my grandparents  was a fantastic time in my life and I enjoyed that time and will never forget.

Granny’s Puna by Iwa Toia

This story is about Granny’s Puna. The Puna was a fresh water spring that was near Granny’s house and and only the adults were allowed to go and get water from there.

The characters in this story are Granny, the narrator who was Granny’s moko.
This story takes at Granny’s house that is near a puna in the forest.

I liked this story because the narrator got really scared after she saw a tuna in the puna.
